Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT)

During my tenure as an eLearning developer, I had the opportunity to work on the prestigious project for the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). My primary responsibility was to compile HTML interactions and collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure the quality assurance of each unit. We adopted a development scrum approach, allowing us to build interactive modules that could be added to a reusable code library. This approach facilitated the creation of templates for future modules, streamlining the development process.

The AAT qualification serves as a gateway to a career in accounting and provides individuals with a solid foundation in the field. As an international training provider and publisher, AAT offers a comprehensive range of study methods and subjects tailored to meet the diverse needs of aspiring accountants. Additionally, individuals have the option to subscribe to gain access to the entire course, providing flexibility and convenience.

The AAT qualification consists of different levels of certification. The Certificate in Accounting covers essential topics such as Introduction to Bookkeeping, Principles of Bookkeeping Controls, Principles of Costing, and The Business Environment Synoptic Assessment. The Diploma in Accounting builds upon the foundational knowledge and includes courses like Business Awareness, Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements, Management Accounting Techniques, and Tax Processes for Businesses. Finally, the Diploma in Professional Accounting encompasses advanced topics such as Applied Management Accounting, Drafting and Interpreting Financial Statements, Internal Accounting Systems and Controls, and a choice of two optional courses, including Personal Tax, Business Tax, Credit and Debt Management, Cash and Financial Management, and Audit and Assurance. By working on the AAT project, I gained invaluable experience in collaborating with a team, ensuring quality assurance, and developing reusable code libraries. This project not only showcased my technical skills but also allowed me to contribute to the growth and success of individuals pursuing a career in accounting.
